MINUTES
SELECTMEN’S MEETING
MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM
HARWICH COMMUNITY CENTER
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2008
7:00 P.M.

SELECTMEN PRESENT:  Cole, Marsland, McManus, Piekarski, Wilkins

SELECTMEN ABSENT:  None

OTHERS PRESENT:  Town Administrator James Merriam, Asst. Town Administrator Nan Balmer, Chief Mason, Chief Flynn, David Ryan, Pete Watson, Tony Germann, Michael Schriebman, Richard Gunderson, Taylor Mills, Jim Byrne, Michael McKeon, Ray Jefferson, Norm Clarke, John Brooks, Debra DeCosta, Franco Previd, Dick Hoyer, and others.

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Wilkins.

PUBLIC HEARINGS/PRESENTATIONS
    
A.      Proposed Construction of a New Police Facility

Mr. Marsland read the hearing notice into record.   Ray Jefferson, Chairman of the Police Station Building Committee, introduced the committee members:  Norm Clarke, John Brooks, Debra DeCosta, Franco Previd and Dick Hoyer, as well as Michael McKeon, Chief Architect at Kaestle Boos Associates and Jim Byrne of CMS, the Project Manager.

Mr. Jefferson made a presentation of the Police Station Building Committee’s findings and provided a history of the project.  He also presented the architect’s drawings of the proposed facility.

Mr. Jefferson, Mr. Cole, Chief Mason and Mr. Brooks took questions and comments from the following members of the public:  Tony Germann, Michael Schriebman, Richard Gunderson, and Taylor Mills.

Chairman Wilkins thanked the Police Station Building Committee for their years of work on this project as well as the Capital Outlay Committee and Finance Committee for their detailed analyses.

ADJOURNMENT

Mr. McManus moved to adjourn at 8:52 p.m.  Mr. Cole seconded the motion and the motion carried by a unanimous vote.
