SELECTMEN’S MEETING

SELECTMEN PRESENT: Ballantine, Cole, LaMantia, McManus, Wilkins
OTHERS PRESENT: Town Administrator James Merriam, Donna Wood Eaton, Douglas Ramler, and others.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER at 8:30 a.m. by Chairman McManus.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Vote to approve a temporary fee for One-Day Liquor Licenses on for-profit events
Mr. Wilkins moved to suspend the policy on fee setting for this meeting. Mr. Ballantine seconded the motion and the motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Mr. Ramler explained that a company called “Outstanding in the Field,” which he described as a traveling restaurant without walls, would be holding a dinner on August 20 and 21 which would feature local and organic food during the time of Farm Fest at the Cedar Spring Farm owned by Donna Wood Eaton. He stated that neither he nor Donna Wood Eaton would get any money for the event but rather he is doing this to advertise his local restaurant. He stated that he is ordering the wine and will be reimbursed for the cost. Chairman McManus moved to set a one day liquor license fee of $45. Mr. Ballantine seconded the motion and the motion carried by a unanimous vote.
B. Vote to approve One-Day Wine License for Cedar Spring Farm, 159 Long Pond Road, Harwich from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 with Donna Wood Eaton as responsible manager
Mr. Wilkins moved to approve a One-Day Liquor License for Cedar Spring Farm, 159 Long Pond Road, Harwich from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 with Donna Wood Eaton as responsible manager. Mr. Ballantine seconded the motion and the motion carried by a unanimous vote.
C. Vote to approve One-Day Wine License for Cedar Spring Farm, 159 Long Pond Road, Harwich from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 with Douglas Ramler as responsible manager
Mr. Wilkins moved to approve a One-Day Wine License for Cedar Spring Farm, 159 Long Pond Road, Harwich from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009 with Douglas Ramler as responsible manager. Mr. Ballantine seconded the motion and the motion carried by a unanimous vote.

Mr. Cole moved to adjourn at 8:45 a.m. Mr. Wilkins seconded the motion and the motion carried by a unanimous vote.
